In 2016, the location changed from the DR to Bogota, Colombia. The project involved working with a local foundation and the Javeriana University to convert backyards into urban farms.
The power of this project is the intersectionality of entrepreneurship, urban agriculture, sustainability, and local communities. The families are able to grow food to supplement their nutritional needs. The surplus is sold to the local community, providing the community with access to organic food at a fraction of the market price.
The first photo is the first garden that we built. The second photo is images of the first harvest.
